.01 / Bio
Rhyzome Adkisson.
Toronto / Concepción
Voice, guitar. Studying music at Humber College in Toronto. I play 80s and hair metal covers with Night Rush and produce Saramago's debut on Espectro. Two papers with Steve Mann for GEM 2026, and I build ESP32-based MIDI controllers for live performance.
I grew up in Concepción, singing in symphonic choirs rooted in nueva canción. Carmina Burana, La Traviata, Die Zauberflöte. A FONDART scholarship funded my classical voice training in 2016. In 2025 I performed at the World Series opening ceremony inside Rogers Centre.
Before music I trained as an Industrial Engineer at Universidad de Concepción. The degree is ABET-accredited, WES-recognized as a combined Bachelor's + Master's. My thesis examined communication practices in DIY cultural spaces, with fieldwork across Chile, Europe, and Canada. I published interdisciplinary research at Universidad del Bío-Bío in 2018.
I spent five years teaching math and physics through Junaeb, starting in remote territories. Along the way I co-founded OndaSonora, a crowdfunding platform for artists that raised $40,000 and was accepted to pitch at KTH Stockholm. I also co-founded CAFCA, an arts education nonprofit that reached 300+ students over four years.
In 2021 I received an ELAP scholarship to Dalhousie for operations research and supply chain optimization. The year before, Crea Chile covered my full tuition. After Dalhousie I spent a year at RadStorm Arts Collective in Halifax, running the community studio and securing $10k+ in grants.
